EVELINE VAN DE GRIEND

Born in The Netherlands and graduated from the Royal Art Academy, Eveline van de Griend now lives in Berlin. She did grants in South Africa, France, Italy, Berlin and in 2011 she was an artist in Residence at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin with Kimberly Clark.

Eveline van de Griend's aim is to deceive reality by joining contradictions.
Eveline study the possibility/impossibility of identification between one person and another. Her creations display a symbiosis of African /Afro- American and her own Dutch cultural heritage, symbolism and the mundane reality of today’s world, often inspired by people or events. As Van de Griend was born in The Netherlands and raised partly in Africa, Russia and England, she lived with the concept of contrast, cultural differences, and the confrontation between the sexes. As a result, Thus the problem of living together in diversity features heavily in Van de Griend's work.

LAURA GORSKI

Laura Gorski (1982 São Paulo/ Brazil) is a visual artist as well as an illustrator and an educator currently living and working in Berlin.
The relationship between drawing, space and landscape is one of the most important research subjects in her art work. In her latest projects, she has been working with the idea of constructed landscapes and displacement, considering the broader concept of landscape and investigating the possibility of building artificial natures from their real elements.
Among her recent accomplishments, she realiSed several national and some international exhibitions from which stands out the solo shows Stoppage at Zipper Galeria, São Paulo - Brazil and Built Landscapes at SESC Pinheiros, São Paulo - Brazil and group exhibitions as Boîte Invaliden, held in the Invaliden1 Gallery - Berlin and Recôncavo Biennial at Sao Felix, Bahia - Brazil, in which she was awarded the Acquisition Prize.
She is part of a brazilian artist’s group coordinated by Sandra Cinto and Albano Afonso called Ateliê Fidalga. http://www.ateliefidalga.com.br/

MADELINE STILLWELL

MADELINE STILLWELL                                                                                   Madeline Stillwell was based in New York (2000-2006), Detroit (2006-2008), and currently lives & works in Berlin (2008-present).  Growing up, she moved cities 11 times before the age of 14, and has continued to move 8 times as an adult.  Perhaps her artistic practice has something to do with this: the nature of ‘moving through’ something--a search for grounding amidst the nature of instability.

Her work has been exhibited  exhibited in New York, Berlin, Seoul, Rennes France, Basel Swizerland, Miami, Philadelphia, & Detroit.

"I see Art as a moment of clarity amidst the mess of structures we attempt to arrange and re-arrange around ourselves.  Life throws us a big pile of leftovers, and we are challenged to make something out of it.  I aim to present a collective material rupture alongside an internalization of the transformative self."    -Madeline Stillwell, 2012
